Stabbing Suspect Arrested In Woodbridge Gas Station Theft

A suspected shoplifter stabbed a gas station employee with a knife in Middlesex County, authorities said.

The Racestar Gas Station attendant was attacked at about 5:15 p.m. on Monday at 915 Port Reading Ave. in Woodbridge, police said. The 42-year-old victim had a stab found in his neck, police said.

The injured employee was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he underwent surgery. 

Woodbridge and Carteret police later arrested  Harlin M. Rodriguez, 23, of Carteret and charged him with attempted murder, robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Rodriguez was being held at the Middlesex County Jail
